Description
  • Pentekostarion (Tsvetnaya Triod) - a book similar to the Triodion but containing the Proper of the Season, that is, the variable prayers and lessons for the services from Easter Sunday until the first Sunday after Pentecost (All Saints' Sunday). If allowance is made for borrowing and additions, it was largely the work of St. Theodore the Studite (d. 826) and St. Joseph of Thessalonica or their disciples. (Day, Peter. The Liturgical Dictionary of Eastern Christianity. Wellwood, 1993. P. 16, 231) The book forms part of the the collection of old prints and special collections of UCU Library. The book was found in 1970 in the basement of one of Drohobych's churches (Drohobych, Drohobych district, Lviv region). There is a shortage in the book: missing title leaf, the beginning and the ending leaves. Title supplied by cataloger. Title cataloged from existing description. The binding is new (cardboard base and artificial leather). A special feature of this book is also the handwritten sheet 45 (мє) in place of the lost printed one. The scribe carefully rewrote the text, and he also reproduced the illustration himself, slightly changing it. The book contains numerous marginal notes in black ink (leaves 168 (рѯи), 222 (ск҃в), 245 (см҃є), 255 (сн҃е), 262 reverse (сѯв) et al.) Zapasko I͡A., Isai͡evych, I͡A.
